Butler & Wilson is a highly respected British design team made up of designers Niki Butler and Simon Wilson. Born in Scotland, Simon Wilson loved design and art since childhood. He gave up engineering courses to explore his interest in jewelry design. Niki Butler and Simon Wilson started their business in stalls at several London markets, starting out at Portobello Road in 1968 and establishing a permanent stall at the prestigious indoor market Antiquarius in King's Road in 1970. They collected and sold Art Nouveau and Art Deco Jewelry and soon began to design their own jewelry linked to the fashion trends of the time.
In 1972, Butler & Wilson opened their first shop on Fulham road in London, England.  In 1975, Wilson and Butler added their first original designs to their Art Deco collection. It became a sensation. Some of their creations were inspired by the Scottish brooches and daggers of the Victorian period, others by 1920s style harlequins or Art Nouveau dragonflies.
In 1982, Butler & Wilson achieved great recognition when the Fulham Road store was extended and became recognizable for its billboards, featuring Jerry Hall and Catherine Deneuve. In 1983, Butler & Wilson opened their first concession in Harrods.   Their jewelry became the top seller in Harrods for many years, and the brand became synonymous with glamour.
The fact that Butler & Wilson's costume jewelry is confused for the real thing is proof of its quality.
Along with selling their items on QVC, Wilson & Butler have a website and three shops; two in London at Chelsea and Mayfair with a third in Monte Carlo.
